Chickasaw Community Bank is mourning the loss of our esteemed Chairman of the Board, Ambassador Neal McCaleb.
Appointed by Governor Bill Anoatubby to our Holding Company Board’s Organizational Committee in 2001 and to the Bank’s Board in 2003, Ambassador McCaleb brought unparalleled leadership and dedication to our organization. His impact extended far beyond the boardroom with a career that was rooted in public service and economic development.
A civil engineer by trade, Ambassador McCaleb served eight years in the Oklahoma Legislature and over a decade as Secretary of Transportation for the State of Oklahoma, overseeing both the Department of Transportation and the Turnpike Authority. In 2001, he was appointed by President George W. Bush as Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs, where he led the Bureau of Indian Affairs and championed policies that promoted tribal economic growth. His distinguished career also included serving as an economic development consultant and special advisor to Governor Anoatubby of the Chickasaw Nation. As a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation, he served as its ambassador until his passing.
As Chairman of the Chickasaw Community Bank Board of Directors, Ambassador
McCaleb’s guidance shaped the Bank’s mission of Building Better Lives for Everyone. It was a privilege and an honor to have Ambassador McCaleb serve on our Board. His
vision and commitment will forever remain a part of our foundation.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this celebration of his life.
